Paying to charm a bear
That's right as the title says, i want to charm a bear from pre-searing ascalon.
Now, this may sound easy but it's not. The bear can use "Breaking Charm" which interupts any charm attemps on it at the time. Basically what you have to do is keep it knocked down long enough to charm it. The best combo that i've heard for this is N/Mo, using fainheart to prolong it's skilled attack,a dn then use bane signet to knock it down. Also, this is in pre-searing ascalon, so you can't be in your normal char, you have to be a noob character.
IGN: Billie Da Killie
I'm willing to pay 5k for this service. Maybe more if needed.
Please PM Me for additional details.
@Caleb: Imaged burden would not work because the problem is the bear using the skill, not the bear interupting you with an attack
P.S. Here's the guild wiki page about the bear, with some tips and such
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Black_Bear
Ugh, i almost had one. Was 7 seconds into charming when my stupid ally stopped running.
I think that the run away strategy propsed on guildwiki is probably the best.

I would imagine having a mesmer secondary with Imagined Burden maxed would help as well, slow that big bear down...lol

You can charm any aof the animals. They're just hard to charm if they're red.

the bear is NOT CHARMABLE in pre searing.
I did the only way it could be..a warrior with knockdown and a mesmer with imagined burdon. it is NOT POSSIBLE.

Nah the bears are charmable, well like 3 weeks ago I was in Foibles Fair, some war was offering help to tame bears. I PMed saying I would like one, we went outside. He asked I stay out of aggro bubble, he aggroed a bear and was running up the road to the lakeside zone and told me when to use charm. Took a few trys, but eventually brutal mauling was too far away to break the charm. :-D

Exactly. That's the strategy that i use. And the last time i did it, if my ally hadn't been 100% moronic i would've had it. I was at about 7 seconds when the fool turned around and brouht the bear towards me.
Basically, here are the steps for the person distracting it.
1) Aggro the bear
2) Turn around
3) Every 4th attack is brutal mauling so right as he starts it run in the opposite direction as the charmer.
4) Keep running and let the charmer dohis thing.
So, will anyone help me?

That screenshot puts to rest any of the naysayers that kept repeating it was impossible to get a bear now in presear.
Now you just need to find that "IWAY" skill..heheh

Sorry Billy, I was referring to a PvP team build comprised of several W/R with low level pets that utilize that particular skill. Dead pets trigger the bonus, so you can almost permanent health regen and attack 25% faster.

Sorry to have taken your post off track, congrats on the new pet!
